Lugo’s research is aimed at the study of different energy systems based on the use of solar energy, and how the development of such systems may be enhanced through international cooperation. To this end, public policies from Latin American countries, Europe, and North America will be compared to better understand the international experience in terms of the use and development of clean technological solutions in coastal rural areas with the participation of different organized communities. At this stage, it is planned the identification and forecasting of trends and drivers that are likely to have significant yet uncertain impact over the next decade or so. She plans to analyze them in order to generate contrasting views of the future in the usage of solar energy in Venezuela.
