In brief, his research and teaching objectives are: To develop research on the intersections of science, technology and environment that contributes to public policy, community welfare, environmental justice and increased democracy in societal governance; To encourage undergraduate and graduate students to develop a critical understanding of, and the ability to participate eventually in helping shape, STE developments; and To promote service-oriented education in which students and faculty collaborate with community organizations, policy-makers, leading companies and other actors to generate enduring social change.
